INVESTIGACIÓN
Paleoceanografía, paleoclima, Atlántico Norte, Océano índico, foraminíferos planctónicos y bentónicos, isótopos estables, elementos traza, ice-rafted debris, XRF y biomarcadores.
Estoy interesada en la relación del océano y la circulación atmosférica con las variaciones climáticas del pasado. Mis investigaciones se centran en el cambio climático Plioceno-Pleistoceno a diferente resolución, centenaria-milenaria a orbital, en altas latitudes del Atlántico norte (visita la web del proyecto CINNAMOW, https://montsealonso82.wixsite.com/cinnamow) y el océano Índico.
Trabajo con varios indicadores como los isótopos de oxígeno y carbono, tanto del plancton como del bentos , elementos traza en foraminíferos (Mg/Ca, Sr/Ca), asociaciones de foraminíferos plactónicos, IRD, XRG, análisis del tamaño de grano y biomarcadores.
